Chapter 2

One of the big perks of my job is I get to Shop. Astrid 'doesn't do' shopping so as part of my job description I am chauffer driven to Sloane Street to pick out Astrid's seasonal wardrobe. This also requires me to know what's currently on trend so reading Vogue also counts as 'work'. Walking around the floors of Harvey Nics buying up the latest Chanel Cruise Collection for your boss might not be everyone's idea of fun but in my world it was a privilege. Last week Astrid decided she wasn't too keen on the latest Mulberry bag and gave it to me so I am now the proud owner of one SS13, not available to buy yet, mini Del Rey in slate blue.

I had just arrived back from one of these shopping trips to find a Lambo parked at the front of Marston Manor. So far I hadn't encountered many people visiting the Manor and certainly not a sports car. Astrid preferred classic cars, chauffer driven of course. As I walked into the house I heard the sound of laughter echoing down the stairs, an unusual sound to hear at Marston Manor. Astrid appeared at the top of the stairs with a tall figure following behind. The figure was a man that I had never seen before, a rather good looking man. Tall and well dressed in an expensive looking suit, I felt myself flush as he caught my gaze. 'Charlotte darling' Astrid trilled 'meet Alex.......'
