We got back in the car and drove back to the house in silence; I was deep in thought as we pulled up to the manor. I must have been a little more to drink than I thought as I stumbled up the steps. Alex took my arm gently, "Let's get you a coffee" he murmured.
The house was quiet now as we walked into the kitchen. I propped myself up on the kitchen side as Alex set about making espresso's. The mood had lightened again as Alex asked me more questions about myself .It was getting light outside as Alex said goodnight and let himself out. I wandered to bed, my head spinning with so many questions from what I had witnessed tonight. I felt like I had told Alex so much about me yet I had found out little about him. I glanced at my phone to find five missed calls from Dan. I felt a pang of guilt as I realised I had been too preoccupied to call like I said I would. I fell asleep feeling like a terrible girlfriend.Astrid appeared at breakfast bright and breezy. I on the other hand, was feeling a little worse for wear. Today we were on a shopping trip to London to preview next season's collections and to find an outfit for a gala dinner Astrid was attending. The trip took us to McQueen, Escada, Jenny Packham and Browns amongst others, all greeting Astrid like royalty. Astrid then announced that I would be accompanying her to the races and would be required to look suitable. I was then attacked by staff in the millinery department, each placing different pieces from an array of designers on my head. Astrid shook her head at most of the designers until finally a small Victoria Grant pill box was deemed suitable. I thought it was more than suitable, it was beautiful. I never felt I really suited headwear but this was so elegant. As we travelled back to the manor I was feeling tired but my hangover had gone and as the sun was out I thought I would relax in the garden with a book. As we entered the manor Max appeared. "Miss Eadie you have a gift" Max announced pointing to the table where a huge bouquet of flowers sat. Astrid walked over to them and looked at the tag. "You seem to be making quite the impression" she said with a raised eyebrow and with that she turned and walked in to her downstairs office. Puzzled I walked over to the flowers to look at the tag which simply read 'Alex xx'
